This 2025 Special Release from Oban, dubbed Heart of the Harbour, captures the spirit of its seaside hometown. Matured entirely in ex‑bourbon American oak casks, it is bottled at cask strength (54.7 % ABV). It balances warmth and coastal freshness, blending the distillery’s Highland character with a whisper of sea air.

Tasting Notes

Appearance
Rich golden amber with natural color

Aroma
Bright citrus peel and lemon oil mingle with salted caramel, vanilla custard, and a gentle maritime breeze. Subtle nutmeg, honeycomb, and orchard fruit notes drift in.

Palate
Smooth and welcoming, the palate brings forward vanilla fudge, orange marmalade, lemon zest, and creamy toffee. Sea salt crackles through, with hints of oak spice and toasted almond.

Finish
A medium, lingering finish with citrus zest, brine, and soft caramel tones, leaving a maritime echo and gentle warmth.
