Description:
This exceptional release was created to mark the centenary of the House of Suntory, comprising malt whiskies from the Yamazaki distillery all matured for a minimum of 18 years in Japan’s precious Mizunara oak. From the first pour, the whisky delivers a reddish-amber hue and an elegant nose of dark cherry and ripe peach tinged with cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it evolves into subtly spiced orangette complemented by a whisper of Japanese incense. The finish is long and lingering, with distinct notes of clove, sandalwood and dried coconut. It captures both the heritage of Yamazaki and the rare character of Mizunara wood.

Distillery History:
Founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki holds the distinction of being Japan’s first malt whisky distillery. Located in Shiga Prefecture’s foothills, it is renowned for its pioneering use of Japanese Mizunara oak casks, first experimented with in the 1940s and now recognised for their distinctive sandalwood, coconut and incense-like flavour profile. This 100th Anniversary edition honours that legacy, drawing exclusively on Mizunara-matured stocks in a fine tribute to a century of craft.
